About Us
Who are we?
The Lord Mayor's Community Trust was established uner a Trust Deed to comply with the ancillary fund provisions of Divison 30 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997, for the purpose of providing money, property or benefits to or for eligible charities or for the establishment of eligible charities. It is a deductible gift recipient and all donations in cash and in kind over $2 are tax deductible.
What do we do?
Our specific purpose is to:
- attract and retain for the Trust the continuing interst and financial support of members of the public
- solicit donation, gifts, bequests and other forms of financial assistance
- widen knowledge and understanding among the public of the Trust, its activities, needs and objectives
- support organisation which do community work for the people of Brisbane
- promote goodwill among the people of Brisbane and their relationship with the Lord Mayor and Brisbane City Council.
Our Grant's Programs - "Supporting Brisbane's Charities"
The Trust provides a number of specific grants for eligible charities that meet the Trust's funding criteria:
- Bi-annual cash grants - grant rounds are conducted in March and September each year
- Christmas grants - provision of toys, food vouchers and cash grants
- Easter grants - provision of easter eggs to charities.
