Councillor Campbell Newman

 
Campbell Newman has been Lord Mayor of Brisbane since 14 April 2004.

A civil engineer by profession, Cr Newman had a 13-year career as an Australian Army Engineer, before moving into various private sector roles and an executive position at leading Queensland agribusiness, Grainco Australia.

Prior to entering Council, Campbell Newman operated his own consulting firm, which specialised in bulk commodity logistics.

Cr Newman holds an honours degree in civil engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Queensland. 

He is married to Lisa and has two daughters.

As Lord Mayor, Campbell Newman is drawing on his diverse experience to get on with the job and plan for Brisbane’s future. 

Cr Newman is committed to making Brisbane a smart thinking, easy living, world-class city.  His top priority is to get Brisbane moving by building new road infrastructure and improving our public transport system.
